🌍 1. Deep Prehistory (before ~3000 BCE)
This period has no written records—knowledge comes from archaeology.
- Stone Age societies
- Humans spread across Africa, Eurasia, Australia, and the Americas.
- Developed stone tools, fire use, and early hunting strategies.
- Agricultural Revolution (~10,000 BCE)
- Farming begins in places like the Fertile Crescent, China, Mesoamerica, and the Andes.
- Leads to permanent settlements.
- Early complex societies
- Göbekli Tepe (Turkey, ~9600 BCE): one of the earliest known ritual complexes.
- Jericho (Levant): among the world’s earliest fortified towns.

- Major religions and philosophies emerging:
- Buddhism

🧭 Important Limitation
Even though we have strong knowledge of major civilizations, large parts of the world before the 1st century are still partially unknown, especially:
- Sub-Saharan Africa (outside major early states)
- Northern Europe (pre-Roman tribal societies)
- Much of the Americas (limited written records before 1 CE)
