Oman is an absolute monarchy ruled by Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, located on the southeastern Arabian Peninsula with a long history of maritime trade and cultural exchange. It is the oldest independent state in the Arab world and blends modernization with strong cultural traditions.

Oman covers ~309,500–315,000 km², bordered by Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Yemen, with long coastlines on the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman. Terrain includes central desert plains, rugged northern and southern mountains, and monsoon‑influenced climate in Dhofar.
